The search team at Comer Baptist Church are working on replacing Pastor Rudy Camp. He retired June 29 after 11 wonderful years of service for the church.

Paula Drake has served on staff as the Music Ministry Director since 1994. Paula grew up and has never left Comer, Georgia. After accepting Christ as her Savior right here at Comer Baptist Church, Paula can’t remember a time where she was not playing a piano or singing on Sunday mornings. Paula loves her Comer Baptist family and has enjoyed every minute of serving in this role.

Paula is married to Curtis Drake and has a daughter, Autumn Drake.

Riley was born in Valparaiso, Indiana. Riley has two older brothers and one younger brother. His family moved to Lula Ga while he was in the second grade. He grew up playing basketball, riding dirt bikes, and playing outside! Riley graduated in 2012. His first job was at Papa John’s where he would meet his future wife, Chelsey. After being a General Manager for a few years, he left his career to start a Laser Tag Business. In the same year, they married on a carnival cruise ship in 2018. While in Transition of Careers, Riley would become Born Again and was instantly on fire for the Lord. Riley and Chelsey would move to Carlton, GA in 2019. They became Members at Comer Baptist in 2020. Riley and Chelsey are still learning to serve every day from their Pastor and Church Family. They are honored to be able to serve and look forward to continued service with Comer Baptist.

Laura Minish, a native of Elbert County, moved to Comer 15 years ago after she and her husband Ben married. They both fell in love with the people and atmosphere at Comer Baptist Church and became members over 14 years ago. Laura and Ben have three children, Ethan (12), Sarah (9), and Leigh (2), and they love worshiping together as a family.

In addition to her role as the Director of Children's Ministry, Laura is a full-time public educator. She has taught for 12 years. Laura holds an Educational Specialist Degree from the University of West Georgia.

She and her family enjoy baseball, fishing, going for picnics, and all things outdoors. She looks forward to working with you and your families as we grow together in Christ.

Anita Henson serves on staff as our Secretary. She grew up in several places, but Oglethorpe County has always been her home. Anita’s father was a SBC Pastor for as long as she can remember.

Anita serves as a School Bus Driver for the MCHS School System and is married to Tyrone Henson. They have three children and one grandchild.
